In Memory of my Gran
My gran - Rosemary Johnson,  whom i was very close to sadly died on December 31st, yr 2000 New Year's Eve in a residential nursing home Castle Hill in Bardsey, near Wetherby at the age of 87 after having three strokes.  Her house had to be sold to pay for her stay in the home.   I inherited from her, a concrete statue of a lion for the garden and a plaque which reads ;-
The kiss of the sun for parden
The song of the bird for mirth
One is nearer to God in the garden
Than anywhere else on earth
Here with Kate Lofthouse when she visited me in April 1998

-  the stereo hi-fi systtem - which i use every day
-  the radio / cassette walkman - which i use most days
-  the microwave oven - which i use most days

Christmas Song - O Holy Night
Here are the words to my favvourite Christmas Song ;-
Oh holy night the stars are brightly shining
It is the night our our dear Saviour's birth
Long lay the world in sin and air a pining
'till he appeared and the soul for all its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder brace and new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel's voices
Oh night devine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night, oh holy night when Christ was born
Television ;-  Ally McBeal; Mr Bean; The Thin Blue Line; Charmed; Yes Minister; The Good Life; Only Fools and Horses; The Vicar of Dibley (a firm favourite !!!);  The Sean Connery James Bond Films and Channel 5 news with Andrea Catherwood
I try not to take life too seriously, i believe it is important to have a laugh every day to keep life and soul together
Musically - my favourite artist is definitely, without any hesitation Eva Cassidy (who sadly passed away on 2nd November 1996 from cancer, a real tragedy as she has a brilliant voice).    I have bought 4 of her Cds, my favourite being "Songbird" which i have playing as i compile this page.
The Corrs are also a favourite group of mine (no prizes for wondering why!!) and i frequently sing along to their catchy single called "Breathless",  no points for the graphic design on the CD cover
I've recently been introduced to the wonderful voice of Stacey Kent after hearing her interview one evening in October yr 2000 on BBC radio 2; her "Dreamsville" album is fabulous.     My musical tastes have been widened even further with the release of the "Born" CD by the 4 member girl group called Bond who are very talented musicians indeed.
