The Fifth Clue is Continued |

|
Dig out your flying geese strips. Decide if you want them to go in the same direction. The pattern calls for them to all be pointing clockwise, but feel creative. Sew a strip of the flying geese to the top and bottom. Press. |

Add a 4 1/2" square of fabric 4 to both ends of the remaining flying geese border strips and press. Sew a border strip to each side of the quilt and press. At this point it should measure 32 1/2" square. |

Next we need to make a checkerboard to go down the sides. Take the 2 1/2" strips of fabric 6 and the 2 1/2" strips of fabric 7. Align the long edges and sew them together as you did before. Do so with both strips. Square up one end and then cut the strips into 2 1/2" segments. Sew twelve of the segments together lenghwise. Your strip should measure 2 1/2" x 48 1/2". Sew the strips to the sides of the quilt and press. |
