CLUE 9
The 9th clue is Flying Geese Block.  You will need to make:
1  - 6" finished blocks 
  (larger pattern at bottom of page)
Cutting Instructions:  ( for 1 - 6" finished blocks )
Light Scraps:
                Cut 4 - 3 1/2" squares, Mark on the diagonal (wrong side)
               
Dark Scraps:
                Cut 2 - 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles
               
                    
Assembly:
    Look at clue 5 (house blocks) for reference.  Make 2 flying geese Units by using the Quick-Corner Piecing Method. Place the light scrap squares, right sides together, on the dark scrap rectangles.  Stitch along diagonal lines you marked erlier.  Refer to the pictures.  Trim away the corner 1/4" from the stitching line.  Press.  Sew both units together for the block.  Square to 6 1/2"
Construction:

Get the unit that you made in clue # 5 of the 2 four patch blocks.
Sew it to the top of the flying geese that you just made like in the picture

Cut 4 - 6 1/2" squares
Dark Scraps
Cut 2 - 12 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles
Follow the instructions for assembly.
Don't forget to square up to 12 1/2 inch.
