                Cut 4 - 2 1/2" squares
                Cut 4 - 1 1/2" x 4" rectangles (3)
                Cut 4 - 1 1/2" x 5" rectangle (4)
                Cut 4 - 1 1/2" x 6" rectangle (7)
                Cut 4 - 1 1/2" x 7" rectangle (8)
Assembly
Take your center ( 2 1/2" dark square) and sew the logs to it in order.  Sew # 1 to the center.  Use a scant 1/4" seam allowance.  Please take the time to iron these logs as you go.  Accuracy is a must for this block.  The rest of the logs are too long for the block.  Center them, sew them on.  Iron then trim each log.  This will ensure that you will have a square log cabin.   Square to 6 1/2"
Construction:
Take the 4 blocks that you just made and sew them together as the diagram shows :)
