Mark your light 3" squares from corner to corner diagonally. Take a light and a dark 3" square and place them together with right sides together. Sew a 1/4" on each side of the line. Cut apart from corner to corner. Press open to the dark side of the fabric. MAKE SURE TO TRIM TO 2 1/2"
