| Southcliff Hotel, June '03 Other Bands: APV, Olly's Jazz Band News of The Whatevers' first ever live performance came on the same day as former guitarist Chester's announcement he was leaving the band for pastures new. The upcoming gig prompted a new wave of songwriting, practise and enthusiasm from the band, especially singer Sean, who had to learn to play the guitar in 2 weeks to make the performance. Luckily, they managed to hold it together 'till gig night. On the day, Sean and Aaron went on first and played (admitedly weak) cover versions of Oasis' 'Songbird' and The Vines' 'Ms Jackson' before being joined by the rest of the band for a runthrough of The Whatevers' first song 'Simon's Boat' The set moved on, highlights including well-recieved Whatevers songs 'Wait and Bleed' and 'Kyle Bailey Blues Xplosion' before ending with a drumkit-climbing finale of The Hives' 'Hate To Say I Told You So'. |

| Performance Rating: 6.5/10 Decent first gig, good crowd reaction, but ultimately lacking killer material |
