The swamp, belonging to Shrek (voiced by Myers) is suddenly crammed with creatures of all kinds. The ogre, Shrek, doesn't like company to begin with, and now on top of the Donkey (voiced by Murphy)who's decided to tag along with him despite efforts to convince him otherwise (after an unintentional saving of said Donkey, he's got this crowd.
He goes to Farquaad to get his land back, and ends up striking a deal. He'll go rescue the Princess Fiona in exchange for his property being cleared.
First off I'd like to say I haven't laughed so consistantly through a movie in a long time.
There are a lot of laughs, and a surprising (or not so - if you're over 12) ending.
This whole movie is a stick to Disney, and Farquaad (sounds remarkably like fuck-wad) is a direct stab at Michael Eisner. There's also a lovely scene where Sleeping Beauty bitchslaps Snow White.
It sooths the soul.
