The Crow

Honors To One Of The Greatest Movies Of All Time

Mila's Accounting
So, I read this graphic novel by J. O'barr. I fall in love with it instantly. It makes me feel things that I've never felt before, never thought I could feel. I am obsessed with it. I think there can be nothing better.
Then comes the movie.
When I saw it for the first time, opening day in the theater, I actually saw it twice. We payed and went in, watched it through, then hid under the seats until the second showing started. I fell in love with it. My Crow obsession was fueled. I had to know everything about it, I had to have all the merchandicing. My prized possesion is the engagement ring. Yes, folks, I have the engagement ring from the Crow. My friend gave it to me my freshman year.
SO what makes this movie so great? If you don't know, you're an ass. But I'll tell you anyway.
Let's start with the concept. A man and his fiancee are killed. The night before their wedding. For no particular reason other than she was fighting an eviction notice. The man comes back to right things because his soul is screaming. Balance needs to be made. Next, how about casting? One of the best fucking casting jobs that has ever been done. I could never see anyone but those people play those parts. Script- The original script sucks ass, and pisses me off, but the one that was turned into the movie is fabulous. It's rich, dark, and cynical. It has everything that a person could want. Guns, swords, death, blood, killing, fire, smartass remarks, action, adventure, romance, honesty, sorrow, pain, happy moments, redemption, release...I could go on, but that might bore you. Directing- Need I explain myself here?
The all encompasing greatness of this movie is inspiring.
