For a long time I was in love with Phantom of the Opera. I thought that no othre show on earth could ever compair.
Then I saw Cabaret.
I took my friends Zoe and Gwen because I wanted them to see it to, and I had the cash, so I thought "Hey! Girls night!"
So we all got all dressed up and swanky and went.
All three of us instantly fell in love with the lead. The guy who played the MC. He was beautiful. His voice was sweet, like honey. It dripped onto us from the 5th row. It filled us completely and sent chills up our respective spines.
And the rest of the cast was good too. Actually, the rest of the cast was gold. Their voices rang clear, their acting was strong, and fabulous. No one tripped over lines; as far as I could tell, anyway.
By intermission I was hooked. Cabaret was my new favorite musical. I was absolutely in love.
And nothing has stolen the place of honor in my heart since.
