New Challenge comming soon...
officaially, as of today, April 17, I have begun the final touches for the next challenge. I'll post in the forums at www.ghostrecon.net when the site is up and running... :)
UPDATE. Nothing too fancy, just informing of the next challenge... so far nothing is for sure, but plans are underway.. :)
WhiteKnight77 did some investigating into this matter and concluded that Desert Seige gives the Demo man 3 charges. But since DS is a 'Mod' it can't be activated for the challenge. Next time around I'll have to be more specific in the rules. I appologize for the inconvinience, and will be sure to specify the details of mod usage for next time.
Unfortunently, Spray's replay cannot be inclueded as an Official entry. :( Turns out he had the DS mod activated. Srry Spray. Since Daywanderer took the lead though, it doesn't really pose much of a threat to the outcome of the challenge. :) I'll leave Spray's reveiw and stats up, I'm just removing his ranking from the stat table. I'm glad to see this was resolved without any hassle. Good sportsmanship shown all around.. :)
In case you haven't noticed in the forums at www.Ghostrecon.net, theres been quite the controversy surrounding Spray's replay... I'm investigating it right now, so check back here to see what I can dig up. So far, the "problem" is surrounding the three demo charges Spray had on him during his attempt. So far the word is, DS give's the demoman 3 demo's in a kit. I'm just waiting for a second voice to confirm that. I unfortunently don't have Desert Seige, so I can't really check for myself... hehe. Hopefully this is resolved quickly, and all allogations of Spray's possible mod usage will be dismissed... ;)

"Warfare is the art of deceit." - Sun Tzu. The score is official. I suppose it would be in the best interest of the participants to see how I came about Spray's Final score of '3'. The math is simple, but the courage multiplier could use a good description. Spray's valor becomes evident the moment he steps into the arena. He ran straight for the enemy. He found the enemy, eliminated the enemy, and moved. His methodical approach to Objective 1 clearly presents Spray's discipline, focus, and experience. This may only be a "virtual" battlefield, but it is a battlefield nonetheless, and on it we wage war. Upon joining the battle, you are best off to seek the quick victory. Spray knows this, and Spray also knows how to acquire it. I started this review with the above quote because it rang through my head the second time I watched the replay. Deception is Spray's ally. He moves the enemy's rearguard away from his flank, and then flanks his enemy. To see a commander pull off this maneuver with two teams of three men each is impressive, especially if only the enemy suffers casualties. But for one man to accomplish this makes it beyond astounding. Had that been "real life", Spray would have definitely proved his right to the title of, "Ghost." Clearing the wall is the key to getting in the castle, planting the charges takes little effort at all. Spray cleared the wall well, the only downfall I saw in it was the hesitance he showed when engaged the second patrol. If it wasn't for him just lying there for that 35 seconds, he would have been given a 5. All being said, "Ninja" is an honorable ranking. It's a shame the replay was submitted with such haste, as I'm sure Spray has the ability to get 90% or better… ;) GJ Spray :) (If anyone participating in this contest hasn't taken the time to review Spray's replay, I suggest you do.) I can hear the profanity's echoing off of Day's screen right now. "WTF!? Why only 4??"
Scoring 100% on your hits is an accomplishment reserved for only two people; the fortunate, and the professional. "Fortune sides with he who dares." What then must be provoked to turn the wheels of fate in your favor? Persistence is one. Dedication, motivation, and concentration will grease them up nicely as well. However temptation is the ultimate pleaser of Nemesis, and when she's been tempted, its best to satisfy her. Fate is a tricky old girl, and when dealing with her its best to show some self-control. Day is very well disciplined when it comes to this game, and other game's I imagine as well, and in honor of his skills, I gladly present the title of, "Ninja" to him. Why not God? Gods create. Although the skills are present, and Day's cautious/aggressive style of play denotes a great amount of courage, he forgot to be inventive. Pretty much following in Spray's footsteps, Day got through the mission quickly and took on very little fire. His luck played well in his favor, and his skill picked up the slack, but it was just Spray's run a done little better. No offence to Daywanderer, but getting the mission done in less than 5 min with a hit percentage of 100 is an admirable achievement, it would have been Godlike had he done something different than Spray. All in all, Day moves into the lead with a total score of 4.4138, GJ Day. :) "Thus, the commander who understands war is the final arbiter of people's lives, and lord over the security of the state." - Sun Tzu |
