Jim's Kayak Fishing Page
Wow, 2007 is upon us already and I can't wait to hit the water!   My job has taken up so much of my time, especially the weekends. Factor in 2 toddlers and that turns into no fishing time for daddy!  I sold my 67 Mustang and added an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 to the fleet. A tough choice but a good one I believe. Now to make time to acually paddle!
Welcome To My Page!!!
This is me in my Loon 138 by Old Town Canoe. This is one of the best fishing kayaks availlable for lazy rivers like the Schuylkill. The cavernous cockpit allows you to move around comfortably inside or to put your legs over the side and relax awhile.
Check out this link for some history of the Schuylkill River and Canal System at the Historical Society of Berks County.
Sea Trout
Nice Sea Trout caught on a bucktail  fishing the inlet at Indian River just south of Rehoboth and Dewey Beach in Delaware.
Old Town Loon 138 Here is my first kayak,  an Old Town Canoe Loon 138 from Kellys Canoe in Gilbertsville.

I opted for the cheapest paddle, but added the OTC Accessory skirt and cockpit cover. This kayak is extremely stable and has plenty of room for my 6'1" 230lb frame.

Fishing from this yak is a breeze, the included paddle holder is wonderful and the cavernous cockpit makes it easy to access your tackle.

    I have since added the
rear hatch kit and a cockpit cover for storage. I have installed a rod holder and a full skirt for cold weather paddling.I also upgraded to a Carlisle paddle.  I love this kayak!!!
