| Sam Raimi - Spider-Man 3 Promising to be one of the greatest action thrillers this summer besides Pirates, Spider-Man 3 is set to release as the greatest movie in Sam Raimis superhero trilogy thus far. Fans of the Spider-Man movies are excited about the introduction of perhaps one of the greatest villains the wise-cracking hero ever faced, Venom. With so much riding on the movie, it is only natural that Sam Raimi be the director once again. Directing such movies as the Evil Dead series, as well as the previous two Spider-Man movies, Raimi has constantly shown himself as able to handle action movies blended with comedy while still maintaining a thrilling level of suspense. Known for such bumbling, tough-guy heroes as Ash in Army of Darkness, it was a no-brainer that Raimi be the one who nurtured Spider-Man onto the big screen. A clumsy nerd who stumbles into his superhero powers, Peter Parkers naivety, awkwardness, and cheesy comebacks during battle fell in well with Raimis characters who tend to be a little on the dorkier side while still being able to fulfill their potential and do what is asked of them with a rather unexpected amount of success. Such a feel of Raimis preferred character type is what allowed for the easy transition of Spider-Man to the silver screen. Also a rather inventive director, Raimi added to this style an innovative type of cinematography in which the camera swings through the city streets, around buildings, and up walls in order to mimic the type of freedom that Spider-Man has. Such a style of shots on top of the bright colors Raimi chooses to fill his city with give the overall movie a feel of cheerful freedom that involves the entire family. Adding this feeling on top of Raimis nurturing of the Spider-Man character has created two films already involving the gawky superhero that have captured the imagination of the country. Now, with Raimi introducing one of Spider-Mans greatest foes, audiences everywhere can look forward to a thrilling night at the movies this summer 2007 when they go see Spider-Man 3. Talks of a Spider-Man 4 are already in the works, and there are rumors that the film may put the webslinger up against a villain known as The Reptile. -Insigzilla |
