| Gore Verbinski - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End is one of the most anticipated movies of the upcoming summer 2007 season of blockbusters, and taking the helm is a man who has proven himself for this type of movie before. Sometimes known around set as the Captain, this is Gore Verbinskis third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. So far, the movies have yet to miss the mark with crowds of varying ages, and there is little that suggests this one will be any different. Directing such movies as The Mexican (2001) and The Ring (2002), Verbinski turned his attention to a more kid-friendly path when Disney decided to turn one of its most popular theme park rides into a thrilling action movie with comedy and drama intermingled. The release of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003 led to a pirate craze spawned entirely by Verbinski and his action packed comedy. Starting with such movies as The Mexican and The Ring, Verbinski had the background in directing action-packed thrillers, a feeling which he kept in the Pirates movies. However, with the added note that these were Disney movies, Verbinski suddenly had a thrilling, sword fighting, comedic, adventure movie that dazzled audiences with its enhancing cinematography and diverse choice of beautiful set locations. Verbinski continually shows audiences that he knows how to display a well-choreographed, if unorthodox, fight scene with fast editing while still slowing down the tempo a bit to give the audience a full view of the eccentric character that is Jack Sparrow. In addition, the landscapes that Verbinski chooses encapsulate the movie in the realm of beauty and authenticity. All considered, there is no reason to expect any less from Verbinski in this movie as long as he stays true to the style of the last two Pirates flicks. If the style remains constant, there is no reason to expect anything less out of Verbinskis latest endeavor into the realm of the pirate than what made people fall in love with the movies in the first place. Fans that fell in love with the first movie and were then left wanting more by the second can expect Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End to enter theaters May 25th, 2007. There are also rumors floating around of more sequels to be made in the future. -Insigzilla |
