The Discworld
The Disc sits on the back of four huge elephants, which stand on the shell of Great A'Tuin, the Sky Turtle. Terry Pratchett once said, "I only invented the Discworld, Josh Kirby created it". The picture below is by the late Josh Kirby, one of my favourite artists.
In May 2005 I met the lovely Mr. Pratchett in Red Lion Books in Colchester where he was signing copies of "Hat Full of Sky" which had just come out in paperback. The good people at Red Lion had imported a limited number of "Once More With Footnotes" from the US as it has never been published in the UK. I bagged myself one of those rare beauties and got that signed. Along with my rare copy of "Eric" the graphic novel in hardback!
