Dance Dance Revolution: Ultramix

You stand and wait for the arrows to enter the arrows at the top. Then you use your feet to tap the corresponding arrow on the floor. Sounds easy, but it ain't. If you ever seen those guys in the arcade that get all perfects it certainly looks easy. But looks can be deceiving. It requires great foot eye coordination. Another good thing is that this game has a lot of songs. 43, and that's not including the hidden and downloadable. But what really sets this apart from all the DDR games and Playstation and PS2 is the online capabilities. Being able to play against 3 other friend online is worlds more fun than playing in the same room. Also with online scoreboards statistics and tournaments Ultramix will have you dancing way after hours. Now on to the bad, while all of this is great we were more than a little disappointed that there is no custom soundtrack. Come on people DDR needs a custom soundtrack feature. Being able to bring in your own music and create a dance in the edit mode would add tons of more hours and fun to this. Also we hate the fact that the downloadable songs come in packs of 5 and cost $5. I mean after paying 40 bucks for the game, and another 30 for the pad. $1 a song seems like a ripoff. Finally, we no this is going to anger the PS2 fans. The best version of DDR is Xbox exclusive. But you got DDRMax 2 so quit crying. Other than that the game is great. If these few things had been fixed than this would have been a surefire 5 out of 5. But because of the lacks of these things we can only give DDR Ultramix for the X Box an 8 out of 10. |
