Version 9.0 Abbey Road
Abbey Road is another tribute to the Beatles, my favorite band of all time. My reasons for making another Beatles layout are obvious; they are brilliant and I love them. After searching through pictures for a couple of days, I decided that I wanted to use Abbey Road for this version. Abbey Road has changed since the Beatles shot the famous crossing - the lines are repainted, and although they resemble the original, it's not quite the same. I finally stumbled upon screen captures of the "Free as a Bird" video, which has images of the original road. That video is absolutely beautiful, and it was hard to stick to my original idea, and only take the Abbey Road image. I wanted the road to be empty, because it's more symbolic that way. This is the first layout in a long time done only in Paint. In true Beatle fashion, love and peace.

Version 8.0 In Dreams
Let's face it, a Lord of the Rings layout was inevitable. I love the books, movies, music, etc. :) I knew that I wanted to do a tribute to LOTR and narrowed it down to "Fellowship of the Ring" because most available pictures are from FOTR. After I made that decision, it took an incredibly long time to decide what part of the movie to use. I eventually decided on Rivendell because it symbolizes restoration and the creation of the Fellowship. I didn't want to have people starring in the layout, so I chose to insinuate the Fellowship instead. Plus, the truth of it all is that we all need a nice stay at the Last Homely House.
Two major songs served as inspiration for this layout. The layout is named after In Dreams, a part of Breaking of the Fellowship. The lyrics remind me of many moments and scenes, including the Frodo/Bilbo meeting, the Frodo/Gandalf meeting, and the Fellowship in general. Since Rivendell is the place of many meetings, I thought parts of the song could apply to it. The other is less prominent. It's located on the left side of the page. It reads "A Elbereth Gilthoniel, silivren penna mriel o menel aglar elenath! Na-chaered palan-driel o galadhremmin ennorath, Fanuilos, le linnathon nef aear, s nef aearon!" Once you read the translation, you'll understand why I put it in this layout. I got all of the images from the LOTR Captions Library and edited them in Adobe and Paint.

Version 7.0 The Leaves are Falling Back East
A new layout for a new season and school year. This layout forced me to learn more about Adobe, because it couldn't have been done without that program. it took a lot more effort that what meets the eye. The inspiration was music. (Surprise, surprise!) This time, it's Ben Folds Five's "Don't Change your Plans for Me." The layout was created entirely from the song, and one of its many interpretations. I was in the car with my buddies (Hah) and the idea came to me. The song will always remind me of Summer 2002 and all of the GOOD TIMES that came with it. :) Even though it reminds me of last summer, it creates an aura of autumn, hence the graphics. This layout incredibly close to the layout I created in my mind, so I'm very happy with the results. The original image is from GettyOne, although I tampered with it until it was beyond recognition. Again, the majority of this layout was created in Adobe, although I did use my trusty Paint program. I'm proud of this one, and I hope you guys like it too!

Version 6.0 Crash into Me
"Crash into Me" was inspired by the song by Dave Matthews Band. It features Tobey Maguire. It's kind of different for an Inside Aice layout, and it's definately a first. I had a few ideas in mind, and I knew that I wanted something that said, "Summer." I settled on a layout starring Tobey Maguire beacause; 1) I love Tobey Maguire :), 2) the picture has a summer feel to it. I worked DMB into the theme, because they were one of my first ideas for this new layout. (Hence the "Crash into Me.") Actually, this layout was titled "Crash into Me" and then it was changed to "Stay for awhile. ("Stay" DMB.) But when I compared the title to the picture of Tobey, they didn't seem to work well together. "Stay" is more upbeat than the picture, so I changed it back to "Crash into Me." I chose the oranges and skin tones to match the picture, and they also say, "Summer." (And isn't that what I've wanted all along?!) I got the picture from a Tobey Maguire site, and carried that over to Paint and Adobe, where all of the side images were created.

Version 5.0 Free as a Bird
Another chapter of Inside Aice is inspired by music. "Free as a Bird" by the Beatles is the inspiration of this layout. This new theme has definately been the hardest to get done, just because I couldn't decide on an idea. There were so many ways this version could have gone. I would talk about those other ideas, but they are still potential layouts, so I'd like to keep them quiet. It actually surprised me that I haven't had a Beatles inspired layout yet. There's always a first time. For this layout, I wanted to have something fresh and new, to go along with the new season. The bird symbolizes the new season, and also some emotions experienced by the Webmaster. :) The image is from Gettyone, and was edited with Paint and Adobe Photoshop.

Version 4.0 New York State of Mind
It has become a trend of Inside Aice to take on layouts inspired by music. In Version 4.0, the title of the layout is from Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind". I always knew that I was going to feature New York City at one point or another. It's more of a music layout. I wanted to have a theme that was clean cut, tasteful and rich, with a hint of Broadway, mixed with a night on the town. This graphic expresses that well. The graphics from "New York State of Mind" are from GettyOne/Tonystone. They were edited in Paint and Adobe Photoshop.

Version 3.0 Mud
The images used in "Mud" are from Nelly Furtado's "Turn Out the Lights" video. I was actually in the car going to the mall when I heard this song, so I came home and downloaded it because it's incredibly catchy. (I like the lyrics, too!) I saw the video a little while back and I thought it was pretty cool. For the new layout, I knew I wanted something just laid out there, something raw. I think that the mud scene in the video is pretty raw! And who didn't play in the mud as a kid? I like the layout, it's simple but cool. Up where it says the title, "Inside Aice", there's a quote following it. "Not everything in this magical world is quite what it seems." It's from "Turn Out the Lights". I think that quote is true, and kind of magical in itself. I created the image in Paint, and carried it over to Adobe, where I added text.
Layout Time: August 25, 2001 - October 12, 2001

Version 2.0 Punk
The main graphic for "Punk" is actually various pictures of Blink 182. I wanted to show the interactions between the fans and the band, and it turned out that they had the best picture for that. Plus, I really love Blink 182. The pictures are not how they came either. I used Adobe Photoshop and airbrushed it with blue and then white. The way that the pictures look is after I tampered with them.
Layout Time: June 9, 2001 - August 24, 2001

Version 1.0 Chicago Style
Images from TonyStone. The main graphic is a picture cut up and pasted all over the place. I knew I wanted something fresh to start out with, but something familiar. So, I went with the Chicago theme. I think it's cool looking!
