Inside E-Wrestling News

Once again, I'm sorry for the delay on the Overdrive recap, but personal $hit got in the way. Here we go:

Jimmy Gold and Ronny Cash, the Moneymakers, make their return, showing up in Hoke Smart's office, this time along with their manager, Vic Vincent. He requests the same exact match that Kade and Stevens participated in last week, a 3 way elimination match between themselves, Team Shockwave, and Simmons/Powell. Their request is granted.

There will be no self promotion on Inside E-wrestling, so I think I'll just let this one slide by the boards.

Drake Stevens and Mark Kade d The Salt Lake City Thrashers. They were disgusted with their competition, and completely destroyed them. After the match, they used a steel chair to severely injure both men.

Another impressive outing by Stevens and Kade, they are emerging as a dominant tag team.

Pete Boyar d Carson Walker via the Bullseye.

Ok match, I expected something more to happen given the bad blood between these two.

Madman is interviewed in the back. He talks about bringing back hardcore wrestling, his way.

This guy doesn't make a whole lot of sense. At least he's showing up for every card, which is more than can be said for a lot of the wrestlers under contract.

The Moneymakers d Team Shockwave and Simmons/Powell. Another total squash, after the match, Vic Vincent lays down a stern warning for Kade and Stevens.

Like I said, there will be no self promotion, but I will say this. It looks like a feud between The Moneymakers and Stevens/Kade is on the horizon.

Liger and Legacy sign the contract for their rematch at Devil's Dance on February 13th. It will be no time limit, no DQ, no countout, there must be a winner. They stare each other down, then shake hands.

This really has some sort of old school feel to it. I like it. It should be a GREAT match to say the least.

Johnny Cyanide returns with an in ring interview. He basically talks about his failures in the past, and how they won't be repeated in the future.

Your basic "I'm back and ready to win" speech. Cyanide is world title material if he can keep his $hit together. Whether or not that happens is a different story.

They replay the finish from the Shane Matthews/Carter Caldwell match last week.

Good. Little things like this shouldn't go unnoticed. I like the fact that SDW is taking the time to really establish Shane Matthews as a legitimate heel to anchor the upstart cruiserweight division, and it looks like Carter Caldwell will be his perfect foil.

Carter Caldwell d Ghosthand and Cyrus Cross.

DUD. Total squash, I guess both Ghosthand and Cross are gone from SDW.

Roman Tate is shown backstage. He basically rips apart the current wrestlers in SDW, and sits back to watch the rest of the show in disgust.

Tate is a big addition to SDW, that's all that can really be said about this.

Shane Matthews d Shadow.

Another DUD. I thought Shadow had a future here in SDW, I guess not.

Liger d Joey Fury with the Lion Deathlock.

GREAT match to end the show. Liger is Liger, and experience won out over youth. I think however, that Joey Fury proved his worth in this match, and that won't be the last main event we see him wrestling in.

OVERALL: Not a strong showing, as the actual wrestling product was lacking this week, but considering what SDW had to work with, you couldn't expect much more. SDW does in fact have a solid base to work with, and I think that as long as they continue to march on with their shows even through the tough early period, they will slowly pick up steam. With the obvious top tier of Liger, Legacy, Joey Fury, Shane Matthews, and Carter Caldwell, along with solid additions of Johnny Cyanide, Roman Tate, Carson Walker, and Pete Boyar, as well as the emergence of a tag team scene with Drake Stevens and Mark Cade as well as the Moneymakers, SDW has a good base to work with. They just need to keep pushing forward.
