Sorry for the delay, it's been a rough week at IEW headquarters. Without further ado, onto the Tuesday Night Heat recap:![]()
Holden Raines interview: He basically badmouths Hunter for a while, showing past clips of Hunter in an attempt to prove that he can't win the big one. This leads to Hunter coming down the aisle, only to be jumping from behind by Johnny Hardcore, and double teamed in the ring until Raines hits the Rainmaker.
No complaints here. Good, solid interview from Raines. I especially liked the way he tied in some of Hunter's past matches to illustrate how he's always needed help to get that "big" win. Any kind of feud revolving around the world title at this point works for me, and I must say, Raines is making a much better champion than I thought he would.
Deuce and Tracey Lane show up in the parking lot. They start to discuss tag team names for Deuce and Delsante when Divine crashes into Deuce carrying a 3 foot dildo. Deuce starts to get mad, when Tracey breaks them up, saying she has an idea.
Bad, bad stuff. I have Divine's gimmick, not because he portrays a homosexual, but because he's not funny.
Arthryn interview. Basically talks about his past with Myst, and the effort that he has put into the EWA. He issues a stern warning to Myst.
Not one of Arthryn's stronger efforts here. I don't know what it was, he just seemed off. I do like the feud though.
The first of five or six ads for someone "Coming home"
Man, Chandler could have pitched in for a much nicer Home banner don't you think?
Sakyo Kyuma and Myst are backstage. Myst is trying to guide Kyuma in the right direction, but Kyuma seems like he'd rather concentrate on getting his Extreme Title back in his possession than listening to Myst. He lashes out at Myst, and the segment ends with things very much up in the air.
The 4th major backstage segment to start off Heat? Not the best way to go IMO, but this was pretty solid nevertheless. I like the conflict between Kyuma and Myst, it adds another dimension to the Kyuma/Arthryn ordeal.
Vinny D arrives at the arena, and is stopped by Rob DiMarco. He has some strong words for Eric Walther regarding their match.
WHY?!?!?! Isn't this what the pre-match interview is for? It's bad enough this is the 5th major backstage segment to start the card, but it's something that is completely un-needed, and served absolutely no purpose at all.
Deuce and Tracey Lane enter Stone's office. Tracey requests a match between Divine and Delsante, with special stipulations. She whispers them in Stone's ear, and he seems amused.
Ok, not bad. It gives us a reason to look forward to the Divine/Delsante match later on in the show.
Pre-recorded interview with Ethan Tyler.
Blah. Boring. I guess this means he'll be coming back, who knows.
YES! A second "coming home" ad.
*marks for Chandler*
Divine beats Dino Delsante in a sex shoppe extreme match to win the EWA tag team titles. After the match, Delsante walks away from Deuce.
Yikes, I don't even know where to start. Interesting match to say the least, and Delsante walking away at the end leaves us to wonder....oh yea, Jenna Jameson giving Eddie Sensation a blowjob was great.
Sakyo Kyuma is backstage looking for Arthryn. Myst shows up, and attempts to give him more advice, only to be blown off again.
No complaints, good continuity. These two are doing great work.
Tom Stone announces that tonight's main event will be a handicapped match pitting Holden Raines against Scott Hunter and himself. He also announces that Raines vs Hunter for the world title will main event The Full Revolution this Sunday.
This segment served it's purpose, there's not much else to say.
Pre-Match interview with Arthryn.
Remember what I said about Vinny D's interview being pointless because it's the same thing he could have said in a pre-match? That holds true here as well. Arthryn basically gives the same interview he gave earlier in the show, only re-worded slightly. A waste of space if you ask me.
The 3rd "coming home" ad.
*GASP*. Who's coming home? I can hardly contain my excitement and anticipation on this one.
Pre-Match interview with Myst.
Good interview, as it was DIFFERENT from his backstage skits earlier in the card.
Arthryn d Myst in a first blood match after Kyuma accidentally hits Myst with a steel chair. After the match, Kyuma beats Arthryn repeatedly with the chair, then steals back his Extreme Title. Before he leaves, he issues a challenge to Arthryn for The Full Revolution 2, a Japanese Death Match for the Extreme Title.
Great segment. A good match, and the stuff that followed was solid. The Japanese Death Match should be the showstealer come this Sunday.
The 4th "coming home" ad.
Hey, isn't the PPV this Sunday in Shreveport?
Pre-Match in ring interview from Eric Walther. Decides his match with Vinny D tonight won't be for the International title, because he said Vinny D would get a shot at his belt if and only if he pinned Nomad, which he did not do.
Good stuff. That's exactly the way a HEEL is supposed to act.
Pre-Match with Vinny D.
Basically a shorter version of the interview he gave before. God I hope Vinny D goes heel again soon, because he makes a terrible face.
Vinny D d Eric Walther via a rollup after accidentally hitting Nomad instead of Vinny D with The Last Shot. After the match, he and Nomad doubleteam DiNardo, and leave him laying. They leave, but a fan throws a drink at them and they beat the living shit out of him.
Decent match. I almost feel like I'm watching a different show here...lol.
The 5th "coming home" ad.
Oh man, big news. We at Inside E-wrestling have been wrong this whole time. It's not Chandler behind these, it's Brandon Kearse. Our mistake.
Vinny D is interviewed backstage. He challenges Nomad and Walther to a hardcore tag match against him and a partner of his choice for The Full Revolution.
Good, this adds some intrigue to the Pay Per View. This tag match wreaks of Chandler's debut, but I could be wrong. It could be someone like Nick Diamante returning too, but you never know. Either way, should be good.
Dino Delsante retires.
Sorry, I never considered Dino that big a part of the EWA. When I think EWA, I can name a dozen people that come to mind before Dino. Thrylla, Nomad, Chandler, Diamante, DiNardo, Zed, Brink, Thorn, Deuce, Regulators, BJ Boyz, The Hustler...just in case you thought I was lying:) Anyway, another waste of space.
The 6th and final (thank god) "coming home" ad.
Ok, in all seriousness now. Chandler is coming back at just the right time, he's going to add a much needed spark to the EWA.
Scott Hunter and Tom Stone d Holden Raines via DQ after Johnny Hardcore comes out and blasts Stone with the chair. After the match, Hunter attempts to spear Hardcore, but gets only the chair to the head for his troubles. Raines and Hardcore drag Hunter away, and when the cameras finally find him, he's chained to the wall in the boiler room, beaten badly, the world title belt just hanging "inches" from his grasp. The announcers hype the PPV this Sunday, and the show ends.
GREAT way to end the show. Alright match, but the scene in the boiler room was great. I loved the symbolism with the world title belt just out of Hunter's reach. A great way to hype the main event of the PPV.
OVERALL: There was a lot of wasted space on this show, but it still did a GREAT job of hyping the PPV. There are 4 solid matches that I'm looking forward to, and for the first time in a long time, the EWA has a Pay per View on their hands worth ordering.
