Rez Has Requested My Senses 7:16 PM September 30, 2002 Posted By The Maestro |

Well, here we are again with another comic on the website! This time there's a cheap 8-Bit Theater reference...but at least it's not tasteless. And of course, another unnecessarily long rant...oh well. Well, since my last rant, school has begun, hence the long delay between comics (some other factors contributed to that gap, including some writer's block and trying to find a sprite of a tent, which I didn't even use...argh). I've also become insanely addicted to the glory known as Rez. So far I've unlocked a reasonable amount of nifty secrets, including two additional areas (w00t!) and some little bonus options (double w00t!). For those of you that haven't heard of Rez, check it out. It's probably the sleeper hit of the millenium...well, maybe. Either way, it's an incredible game that no PS2 owner should go without. Look for a possible review in the future... Before I get into my irrelevant ranting, I'd like to address some comic-related issues. Well, first of all, I have no idea how often I'll be able to upload comics, but I'll do my best to keep them coming (and hopefully at least slightly comedic). That means something like one comic every one-to-two weeks (depending on whether or not I can think of any sort of plot development) but I wouldn't count on it being all that consistent...I'd also like to take this moment to ask all of our fans (yes, both of you) to tell your other friends about the comic and if I'm really lucky, maybe I'll get some readers other than the ones I pay to pretend to like the comic (they're starting to demand higher wages...I can't afford it for much longer!). I also just finished submitting the site to a couple search engines, although I doubt I'll get many readers from that...Anywho, to be serious for a second, I'm very dedicated to this comic, and personally, I would not like to see my hard work go to waste (although I've really enjoyed making the comics I've done so far). Well, enough being serious. Let's talk games... In general gaming news, I've also become a slave to various other music games, including Frequency (online play looks wicked pisser cool!), Samba de Amigo and of course, DDR. And hopefully I'll get my hands on a copy of Vib Ribbon in the not too distant future. In other gaming news, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance officially kicks major ass. I'm still amazed how much graphical excellence (remember, it's a handheld) that they're squeezing into this little toy...just imagining playing something with Metal Gear Solid-caliber graphics on a handheld gives me chills... One quick question to anyone out there who might know something about this...I've just recently installed a Japanese language pack on my Mac (yes, this comic is done on a Mac) and I've been looking around for some really cool fonts...but I haven't really found any...well, at least none that aren't TTF files (which I need to convert...grumble). Anyone out there know of a good (and free) place to find such fonts? I basically need some cool blocky katakana and hiragana fonts for future comics (maybe even sound effects...ooh). Anywho, if you know of a place, drop me a line. Well, time to get back to listening to some J-Pop...as always, feel free to send me e-mail with any questions or comments that you have (as if I haven't asked enough already). Ja mata! |
