The Loft Project: Storage
With the framing and decking in place it was time to make some usable storage spaces.
I made two of these "ribs," one for each side, to integrate into the upper cabinets. Also in this view is the 10" wide hang space closet.
The old fiberglass "rib" supports the roof and stops the fiberglass walls of the trailer from vibrating, flapping, and cracking the fiberglass in freeway-speed winds.
The inside of the hang-space closet door shows how the punched-aluminum panels are held in place. Lex's Bedroom
The strap stows under the mattress when we're set up. Only the small black rectangle of plastic, part of the belt buckle, shows below the drawers.
A 3/4" web belt strap and buckle hold the drawers shut while the trailer is moving.
The decorative trim around the top of the chest of drawers also creates a "lip" that stops stuff from rolling or sliding off.
110v and 12v outlets on the side of the hang space closet at the foot of the bed. This is where our electric blanket plugs in when we have hookups!
