Sanq Sinks Again

Princess Relena of the Sanq Kingdom stared moodily at the limp piece paper in her hands.

 

No. It could not be true.

 

At least that was what she had thought.

 

Two weeks ago, she’d received a letter written in a harsh flowing script that had said,

 

 

Princess Relena,

 

                It is my unfortunate duty that I must inform you of a certain tragedy that has occurred right under our noses.

 

The Gundam pilots are no more.

 

                All of them have taken their own lives into their own hands and decided to end them. We just thought you would like to know.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                5Kisses4you.

 

 

At first she had decided that the letter was an unfunny joke. 5Kisses4you? I mean, really.

 

But now Relena wasn’t so sure.

 

Fourteen battles had raged along the border of the Sanq Kingdom and not once had her protectors come to save the lives of her soldiers and end the pointless battles that the Kingdom was now losing at every turn.

 

“Miss Relena! Miss Relena!” The slender form of Dorothy burst into the room brightly lit with sun.

 

“What is it Dorothy?”

 

“Miss Relena, OZ attacks the palace itself!”

 

“What?!” Relena shot out of her chair in shock, “That’s impossible! Krushrenada would never stand for it, and neither would my brother! What are they thinking?”

 

“Treize is dead, as is Zechs, Miss Relena. Their bodies were found early this morning when a maid looked in the dining room after being on leave for the weekend.”

 

“No…..” Princess Relena sat down on her chair again her face white, “And with the Gundam pilots gone we don’t stand….”

 

“…A chance.” Finished Dorothy looking not at all worried but rather elated.

 

An explosion rocked the room knocking Dorothy off her feet and causing Relena to grip her chair as hard as possible.

 

A bright fire flashed up in front of the other side of the window. The girls screamed.

 

Time stood still for what seemed an eternity…a mobile suit appeared in the now broken window and aimed it’s laser cannon at the cowering girls.

 

Then in a brilliant white flash the room was engulfed in flames.
