| Iron Maiden started in 1975. The first album which was self titled was brought out on April 14, 1980 with the line-up of Paul Dianno (Vocals), Dave Murray (Lead/Rythm Guitar), Dennis Stratton (Lead/Rythm Guitar), Steve Harris (Bass), Clive Burr (Drums). With the next album Killers which was released on February 2nd, 1981 Dennis Stratton left the band and was replaced with Adrian Smith (Lead/Rythm Guitar). After the tours and before the next album was released Paul Dianno left and was replaced by Bruce Dickinson (Vocals).The Number Of the Beast was the next album released on March 29, 1982 and it went to number 1 in the Charts and has been classed as a Classic album. Clive Burr left the band which brought in current drummer Nicko McBrain. The line-up stayed the same for the Piece Of Mind album (May 16, 1983), Powerslave (September 3rd, 1984), Live After Death (October 14, 1985), Somewhere In Time (June 29, 1986) and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son which went to number 1 in the charts and was released on April 11, 1988. Then After a year off Maiden came back to release No Prayer for the Dying released October 1, 1990 but Janick Gers (Lead/Rythm Guitar) was brought in due to the departure of Adrian Smath. The last studio album with Bruce Dickinson was Fear Of The Dark released May 11, 1992. Maiden went on through the Fear of the Dark Tour and headlined at Donington Park with Skid Row, Slayer, Wasp, Thunder and the Almighty as support acts on August 22, 1992. Live at Donington was originally released on November 18, 1993 but as it was a limited edition it has been re-released with all of the albums upto Bruce's departure. A Real Live One and A Real Dead One were released March 22, 1993 and October 18, 1993 as the last live albums with Bruce. Blaze Bayley (Vocals) replaced Bruce Dickinson but some fans didn't like him because he wasn't as good as Bruce and The X Factor was released on October 2, 1995. Best Of The Beast was the next album released with all the best Maiden songs on and a new song called Virus and was released September 23, 1996. The album that followed was Virtual XI on March 23, 1998 and Blaze kept getting a throat infection and he left after. Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith returned to Iron Maiden and released Ed Hunter in 1999 and then followed with Brave New World released on May 29, 2000. They toured and finished at Rock In Rio which was a good place to finish for a year off. Rock in Rio was released on March 25, 2002. |
