~ Marilu's Favorite Music Bands ~

These are my fave bands and some quick info on them
if you want more don't hesitate to click on their site link.

-The Strokes:Singer Julian Casablanca,
                                  Guitar: Nick Valensi & Albert
                                  Hammond Jr., Bass: Nikolai Fraiture,
                                  Drums: Fabrizio Moretti.

A band from New York City who's sound has been compared by many to The Ramones and The Talking Heads. After years of playing small New York City clubs, the work has paid off for these 5 talented musicians.
Their debut CD titled Is This It is a mixture of punk and garage rock with wise lyrics. The CD includes the acclaimed hits Last Night and Hard to Explain. Personally my favorite song has to be Soma, but all the songs are equally fantastic.

If you still haven't experienced The Strokes go out and buy their CD today, you won't be disappointed.

-Tiger Army: Singer, Guitar: Nick 13,
                                    Drums:Fred Telles,
                                   Stand-up Bass: Geoff Kresge.

Formed in 1995 by lead singer Nick 13, Tiger army played their first show opening for AFI in Berkeley, CA. After years years of gigging around the east bay area, they were discovered and signed onto Hellcat Records. The band has now relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Although the band has experienced an ever changing lineup, it has never failed to make good music.
The band has played with the likes of Social Distortion , T.S.O.L and their friends AFI. Along the way Tiger Army has also formed a strong following consisting of punks, greasers, skins, goths, and other nonconformists.

As the band says, anyone who relates to or appreciates their music is part of the Tiger Army. Are you part of the Tiger Army?

-Weezer: Singer Rivers Cuomo, Guitar: Brian Bell,
                         Bass & Vocals: Scott
                         Shriner, Drums: Patrick Wilson.

This band has been through a lot in its 10 years of existence, which consisted of numerous bass players. With 3 cd's and the 4th one in the way this May, Weezer can surely say that they have conquered everything.
With a mixture of emotion and simple catchy lyrics they have fussed the right potion for success. They have created numerous of number one hits, including the unforgettable Say It Ain't So. I have seen them numerous of times in concert and have witnessed their energy and great skills close up.

With their upcoming cd Maladroit they are bound to continue making good music and keep the geeks happy!
