Here we are, clean and ready to
go- Aleta, Kat (me), Dad, Matt, and Stephen.

L-A glacier on one of our first days on the trail, my dad is posing for the photo.
R- The famous picture of me brushing my teeth in the river (night 1 or 2.). I accidentally ended up with 5 of these. On the US side of the trail there are no grey water pits, so you brush your teeth and throw all your grey water into the middle, or fastest running section of the river.
L - Aleta, crossing the canyon creek suspension bridge
R - The cooking shelter at Canyon City (1st campsite) There were carved chairs and everything!

L- A beautiful waterfall we saw during the first day of our hike.
C - My brother Matt, at our second campsite (Sheep Camp). We decided to make like little children and carve boats from sticks and race them down the river. Mine lost.
R - The river at Canyon City. (our first campsite). This is my favourite photo from this trip.
L - Dad and I on the trail.
R - A beautiful mountain glacier from our 1st or 2nd day.

L - Another waterfall that we saw within the first few days of the hike. It's fed from a glacier- you can't see how immense it is due to the reflection.
R - At the summit (looking towards Canada). Look at the pictures of the "golden stairs" to see what we went through to get there. It was steep, rocky and tough. But fun!

L & C - Two views of the golden stairs. A very steep climb to the pass. Can you imagine going over it with 1000 tons of stuff? What you can't see from here is that what appears to be the top is actually a false summit.
R - If you look carefully you can see Matt and I climbing up the final trek to the summit.

L - Summit day. This is the approach to the Golden Stairs (pictured above).
C - The view from the summit, looking towards the US side of the trail. It's not too evident here, but the slopes of those mountains are lush and green.
R - The contrast- looking from the summit at the Canadian side of the trail. You can see how it is just rock and water. This is the Canadian North!

L - The trail that we covered after coming down from the summit. Here we are just about to approach Happy Camp.
R - An example of the barren landscape on the Canadian side of the hike.

L - Here we are on our last leg of the trip, approaching Lake Bennet.
R - Lake Bennet.

L - A view of Lake Bennet from the trail
R - A small cabin that we saw along the last part of the trail. Matt, Stephen and Dad posing.
Here we are at the end of the trail,
back in Canada, happy and satisfied that we did it.
