Mary's Tower
I visited Mary's Tower with Amanda and Rob sometime in the begging of August, approxomitly Aug. 9th. Yes, you all must be shocked, I, Shawna Marie Kelly, do not remember what day I went to visit a haunted place. I didn't even add this to my website until today which is the end of Novermber. No, I am not slacking, Mary's Tower... sucked. To all of the little scenesters that went there ane were scared out of their minds; wow. You guys need to get out more. I pretty sure that Mary's Tower isn't even worth documenting but here I am. So I might as well explain it. I believe that it is located on Clinton Road, although I don't quite remember. When you get there you can find absolutely no where to park so when parking on the side of the road we had to be extra careful. It is said that you will be ticketed if the neighbors see you and I have been told by a friend that there is a man with a shot gun who lives right next door. I'm pretty sure my source is reliable about this because unfortunatly she happened to meet up with him. That being said we decided to go anyway. It's Mary's Tower, its 15 minutes from my house and its soooo scary. We had to check it out. We found the two stone posts and chain guarding a driveway easily, for some reason even Weird NJ had trouble finding it. We walked down the gravel driveway that was covered in weeds up to our shins and noticed that the house next door to the Tower, where the man with the shot gun lives had a bunch of people on their back porch. Great. We made it to the tower which is not five stories tall, only three and looked dissapointing even from far away. We entered to find the same exact layout on each floor. Three rooms all covered in graffitti and smelling of urine. Wow, scary stuff right there. We probably spent about 15 minutes inside the house before we got bored. We left the house to see the yard which was probably the only cool part about the location. It was covered with old trucks. I mean really old trucks. And it was awesome to see them. As always I have to get a "souvenir" so Amanda and I cut really old seatbelt buckles from the trucks. It sits on my bookshelf now with my liscense plate from the barn and my brick from Lambertville school. I actually really enjoy the antique. No, I'm sure as you have guessed already I would not reccoment Mary's Tower. Even if it wasn't a hassel to avoid being spotted I would not return again. If you still wish to go there I'll give you directions but prepare for disappointment. -Shawna M. Kelly
Mary's Tower was abandoned for unknown reasons. Some say that Mary murdered her baby and then commited suicide. There are rumors that baby booties were discovered when the place was first explored years after its abandonment along with Mary's journal full of incoherent ramblings. It is nearly impossible to get to because of lack of parking if you can find the road to the tower at all and is also guarded by very protective neighbors, one said to be sporting a shot gun.
