Lambertville High School
The school was built in 1854. In 1926 much of it was destroyed when the boiler blew up, killing everyone on the first floor. Rumor has it that another fire in 1992 destroyed the school for good. Several people have claimed that the blackboards are haunted, on the second floor it is said that there are drawings of children crying and burning. A championship football game between Lambertville and New Hope resulted in the death of a school boy. He was tackled to the ground in a normal play, when all the players got up he remained on the ground with a broken neck and his head doing a 180.
On July 15, 2004 Bill, Daphane, Ryan, Bobby and I made a trip to this abandoned school. It was a fun experience but might have been a bit more scary if there wasn't grafitti everywhere. It was definitely weird though to see this big abandoned school and we did feel some cold spots. We met some local kids there who showed us around a bit until we saw a car. We hid in the dark a bit and then moved inside where it was a bit safer. After a little more exploring we decided to go home. It was a bit dissapointing but definitely fun. The only souvenir I got was a brick but at least I can say I went there. -Shawna M. Kelly
