Welcome to my Home Page This page contains some very high-quality images, so please allow a little time for them to load...
A bit about me... My name is Peter John Inns, I was born in October 1967, and sometimes I live in Northamptonshire, England (my original home), while other times I live in Thailand. I am a Business and IT Managing Consultant by profession. My hobbies and interests include travelling, socialising, watching movies (science-fiction and fantasy being my favourite genres), reading (again with sci-fi and fantasy being my favourite types), playing computer games, building fun websites, and anything to do with "Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future". I am not a total "geek" though, honest! :-) I became interested in Dan Dare at around the age of seven when I saw some original artwork by Northamptonshire-born artist Frank Bellamy, who had worked on the series in the late 1950's and early 60's, that was on display at my school. Dan Dare was not in print anywhere during my early childhood (the "Eagle" magazine that carried his weekly adventures had ceased production in 1969), and seeing the amazingly colourful and detailed artwork for the first time immediately got me hooked. I have been a fan ever since, of all the different versions but particularly the original 1950 Frank Hampson creation. To

For an overview that is primarily focussed on Dan Dare's evil arch-nemesis The Mekon (including a complete listing of the weekly adventures of Dan Dare and The Mekon that appeared in the 1950's and 60's "Eagle", plus details of all the other weekly stories they starred in) why not visit my third Dan Dare website at www.dandare.org.uk.
A bit about Dan Dare... To
give you a small insight into why I like Dan Dare so much, here are two pages of
an episode from the mid-1950's Dan Dare story "The Man From Nowhere".
Both pages are from the same issue (Volume 6 Number 20, dated 20 May 1955)
of the weekly boy's magazine "Eagle" that carried Dan Dare's adventures
during the 50's and 60's. There were two pages like this every week, with
the story narrative running across both pages. A typical story would run
for many weeks, sometimes even for as long as a year and a half. My thanks to Terry Doyle for supplying the above scan.
Here
are some animated Dan Dare GIFs I made, just for the fun of it really:
A bit about Futurama and Red Dwarf... I am a fan of pretty much all things "Sci-Fi", not just Dan Dare. Two of my other favourites are the sci-fi comedy TV series "Futurama" and "Red Dwarf" - I love a good laugh!
If you've never seen "Futurama" (which was first broadcast in 1999), I thoroughly recommend you to buy at least one season of the 4 (to date) seasons on DVD, or one of the 4 straight-to-DVD films - it's very funny (which is not surprising really since it was co-created by Matt Groening, creator of "The Simpsons") and you don't have to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy it, although it does help. Below is a picture of some of the characters from the series, including (in the center) the three protagonists Leela the Cycloptic Alien-who-later-turned-out-to-be-a-mutant Human, Fry the Frozen-in-time-for-1000-years Pizza Delivery Boy, and (lying down) Bender the Girder-bending Robot, plus (from left to right around them) Kif Kroker, Zapp Brannigan, Nibbler and Amy Wong:

If you haven't previously seen Rob Grant's and Doug Naylor's "Red Dwarf" (which was first broadcast in 1988), I also heartily recommend you to buy at least one season of it on DVD - season 6 is, in my humble opinion, the best of the 8 (to date) full seasons. (The 2008 follow-up three part mini-season "Back to Earth" is also worth watching if you watch all the full seasons first.) As with Futurama, every episode is really funny and you don't have to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy them, although again it helps. Below is a photo of the season 8 main cast, consisting of (from left to right) Danny John-Jules as "The Cat", Chris Barrie as "Arnold Judas Rimmer", Robert Llewellyn as "Kryten", Craig Charles as "Dave Lister", Chloe Annett as "Kristine Kochanski" and Norman Lovett as "Holly":
