.:Bleeding On The Cross:.

I would never censor something I've written in the past, but based on the openness and caring shown to me by those with strong faith, this is not a song I would write again. At the time I had so much bitterness towards organized religion and the self-righteous people who claimed to practice it. This is a song about that self-righteousness. It's message, basically, is "judge not lest ye be judged". The line "I won't see the strength in knees" refers specifically to those people who treat others terribly and then go and pray and believe that it makes everything ok. A quote I got from Lorie recently applies here: "Going to church makes you no more of a Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car."

i am your jesus
crucified and drinking blood
i'm the fear in your eyes
i'm the one who realized
i am your saviour

you talk about winning and losing
i know about who you're abusing

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't want to walk away from you
when his son's the sun you buried and
you prayed for him to lose

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't take his time away from you
when his tears are years you wasted and
you watched his life abused

i am your north star
lighting a train in your mind,
i am the lust in your lives
i'm the one who sees and drives
i am your direction

i am your angel
floating through your little world
i'm the fire in your flies
i'm the one you sacrificed,
i am your other.

you talk about winning and losing
i know about who you're abusing

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't want to walk away from you
when his son's the sun you buried and
you prayed for him to lose

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't take his time away from you
when his tears are years you wasted and
you watched his life abused

i am your banner
fuelling candles in your head
i am the flame that's always bright
i am the one who wouldn't die
i am your jesus

and i dont know the way i'll blow
when the earth fails my feet
and when words wear away my world
i wont see the strength in knees

sometimes i turn to skies above
we've done that for centuries
but soon i find that fire won't love
that the stars are blind to me

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't want to walk away from you
when his son's the sun you buried and
you prayed for him to lose

you have to have to wonder who
wouldn't take his time away from you
when his tears are years you wasted and
you watched his life abused

i am your banner
sailing through your ancient sky
i am the flame that's always bright
i am the one who wouldn't die
i am your jesus
