Text Box: Welcome to Mt. Baker! We are excited about the coming school year. This letter will highlight some expectations of our time together. Teaming Mt. Baker is committed to a middle school philosophy. This simply means we consider ourselves a place of transition for students between the elementary and high school setting: hence, middle school. With this philosophy comes the benefit of teaming where teachers of each student meet daily to track the student’s total school program. Teaming allows teachers to coordinate instructional and disciplinary practices, benefit from each other’s perspective and expertise, and provide greater consistency with each student’s education. Innovator Teachers To promote group cohesiveness, each team has their own name. We are the Innovators. There are four teachers on our team. The chart to the right explains. There is a job-share position for the science and social studies class consisting of two teachers on the team.

Mt. Baker has a school website available for use and the Innovator team is linking our website to the Mt. Baker website. It will have a calendar of assignments and events for each of the core teachers, helpful web sites, and progress report information..
