  Personal History:

Sandra was born in Roswell, New Mexico both her parents were in the Air Force. She and her two siblings moved around a lot until Sandy turned six and both of her parents got stationed back in Roswell. Her father shortly died after they returned back to Roswell, only two days before Sandy's seventh birthday. He was doing a routine training mission over the desert when there was a malfunction and his plane went down. His death hit the family hard, but they were lucky Sandy's mom's parents lived in Roswell and helped out a lot.

Sandy and her siblings spent a lot of time together becoming very close; they stick up for one any other while their mom was at work on the base or when she had a 'boyfriend' around. Sandy soon became the science nerd of the three, when she turned ten she became very interested in the stars and was often found laying outside past her bedtime just staring up at them. Her siblings and kids at school used to tease her because she believed in Aliens and other worlds. She kept telling them that when she got older she was going to travel to another world and meet an alien. Of course everyone thought she was weird but it was her dream so she didn't care.

Sandy was in her teen years and all she did was read science fiction and astronomy books and be antisocial, her siblings on the other hand were totally different. Her brother Devon was the sport jock and her sister Trinity was the popular cheerleader. During high school Sandy only had a few friends if any, but she liked to keep her self isolated and excelled in all her school work, basically becoming a bookworm.

There was one thing Sandy and her siblings did agree on, wanting to join a branch of military after they graduated. Sandy was the only one to follow in her parents footsteps and joined the Air Force. After graduating she went into basic training, she completed basic and then went onto the University of Texas in Austin getting a full scholarship into their astronomy department. She stayed there a couple of extra years to get her PhD in Astronomy; her specialty was in Interstellar Communication and Travel (aka explorations of Extraterrestrial Life), along with Planetary and Stellar mapping.

After Sandy graduated with her PhD the Air Force wanted to place her within NASA and act as a liaison along with helping their research department. She only worked there for a year before the Air Force wanted her for a new assignment. Due to her specialties with her astronomy degree, they thought she would be a good asset to the Genesis program. When she was offered she was a little hesitant at first, yes it was like a dream come true…but she didn't want to leave her family, they were all still very close. After talking with her mom who basically convinced her to take positions, she finally accepted the new assignment.
