It is advisable to consider what your Hypnotherapist brings to the table.  When researching Hypnotherapists to help you create the behavioral or lifestyle changes you desire through hypnosis, you want to know you have looked at all the most important factors.

Most of the clients
I see have tried
other forms of medical, psychological or
self-motivated interventions   that may not have been effective for them.
Most find that hypotherapy
is a self-empowering modality that enables them
to identify
and work on the source of their issues, problems, or health care challenges
rather than simply addressing a symptom.

It takes a very serious conviction by the Hypnotherapist to help others establish and
maintain a successful, legitimate, full-time, professional practice in Hypnotherapy.
You want a professionally trained, Certified Hypnotherapist with a full-time practice rather than a part-time hobby.

If the hypnotherapist you choose does not have the background and experience that reflects professionalism, then research is in order before you set your appointment.
Success
with hypnosis requires commitment
by the client.
"Trying" is not sufficient,
in and of itself,
as it affords the individual the excuse to fail with the internal dialog,
"Well, I tried."

I cannot say what training and experience others bring to their practices or classrooms, but can share some of my own background, professional training and experience for your consideration. My practice, Little Rock Hypnotherapy, is a full-time, professional practice in the same location (University Tower, Central Little Rock) since 1999.  Since my initial Hypnotherapy Certification in 1999, I have continued my training and professional development by becoming an active member of the NGH.  Since joining, annual expectations of 15 hours of CEU's (Continuing Education Units) have been far surpassed.  I attend the NGH annual Convention, taking a multitude of courses that upgrade my skills and knowledge base.  In 2003, I acquired Certification as an NGH Instructor and shortly thereafter, licensure from the AR State Board of Private Career Education to teach the NGH Hypnotherapy Certification Course.  I have taken and passed the written and oral exams from NGH Board Examiners and fulfilled all requirements to now use the Credentials "BCH", or "Board Certified Hypnotherapist".  To date, there are no other NGH Board Certified Hypnotherapists or NGH trained Certified Instructors in Arkansas.
In December of 2003, I started and was elected President of the
Arkansas Chapter of the NGH.  This regional chapter of the NGH
provides a local venue for all  NGH Hypnotherapists in Arkansas to accrue the required continuing education units/hours
o maintain certification.

With a broad range of medical and management experience starting in the late 60's, I have worked in hospital Lab, Radiology, EKG, EEG, and as a Respiratory Therapy Technician. The Baptist Medical System and their subsidiary company Service Professionals, brought me to Arkansas in 1987, having just resigned from a Department Director responsibility with the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Working as a contract Department Director, first at Conway Regional Hospital, then Baptist Memorial Medical Center in North Little Rock, I was later promoted to Director of (Employee) Training and Development within a large department in the (then) Baptist Medical Center. (It is now Baptist Health.)  I wrote policies and procedures and implemented training programs for managers, supervisors, and front-line staff through inservice presentations and actual hands-on training. During those years, I was also provided the wonderful opportunity to create department-specific training and orientation videos.

With over twenty five years of medical, professional, and management experience, largely in hospital environments, I believe my conviction to help individuals achieve their goals .... is a result of my own desire to train clients to understand how Hypnotherapy works, truthfully and realistically  ....  so that my clients may then achieve and accomplish the goals they set for themselves .... easily and without conscious effort, through one-on-one hypnosis sessions, in small groups, or by learning the art of self-hypnosis.   I am an advocate of Hypnotherapy and have enjoyed many personal successes from Hypnotherapy. As such, I am able to connect with most clients' struggles.
The American population today recognizes that we, as a nation, suffer from:

epidemic proportions of obesity, pediatric and adult-onset diabetes, hypertension, and acid reflux
disease as a result of unhealthy eating habits usually learned early in life by parental example, and from
habitual overeating, often exaggerated by our propensity for carbonated beverages (that stretch the
stomach) and convenience foods high in sugars and trans fats,

massive numbers suffering and dying from lung diseases, heart disease, and cancers, to which
                  cigarette smoking certainly contributes,

illnesses and diseases that can be traced back to prolonged stress and worry and apprehension.
Many harbor tension in the body that they are not consciously aware of until the body demands
                  attention, and finally,

sadness, worry and apprehension due to conflict in world events, exaggerated by the bombardment of
television messages that suggest that happiness may be attained with the use of antidepressants and
other pharmaceuticals.  Many self-medicate with non-prescription as well as prescription products that
often produce side effects far worse than the symptoms of sadness, brought about by viewing and
absorbing too much negative information through media coverages and commercial messaging.

What we think and how we think, especially on the deeper, subconscious level, does affect the physiological responses and reactions of the body. Whether your challenge is a fear is of public speaking, flying, or dental work, or you want an improved healthier lifestyle, or you desire a better golf game or other competitive sports ability through enhanced focus and concentration, Hypnotherapy offers an alternative or compliment to what modern medicine or other modalities may offer you.

I bring to the table .... years of professional, management, and medical experience. I am a Christian, a mother and a professional business woman.  Additionally, I have a conviction .... hypnotherapy is the best, most self-empowering way to accomplish the goals you set for yourself.

Trusting your Hypnotherapist to help you maximize the benefit of your session is key. Trust is pivotal in your success. If you don't trust your Hypnotherapist to give you only the most positive and beneficial suggestions designed for your success with your goals in mind, then .... do your research, and choose a Certified Hypnotherapist you can and do trust.

Remember, everything is a choice.  Who you see, what you do, how you live, the state of health and being you choose to enjoy are all results of choices.  Choose to focus on the origin of a problem or an issue and you are preventing future problems and issues.  Ignoring the resulting symptoms that are signals from your body to make different lifestyle choices ... exacerbates the problem and you likely end up with additional problems.

Hypnotherapy is not a magic pill or wand; it is a wonderfully
effective tool to create positive behavioral, thinking and lifestyle changes from within.  Training your subconscious mind by developing YOUR own self-hypnosis skills with the help of your Hypnotherapist, returns the power to you.  You ... you make the change ... Hypnotherapy makes it easy.
