                CREATING WITH CONSCIOUS THOUGHT

We have about 80,000 thoughts a day. Even though we arent aware of all of them. We can take charge of ourselves and use our mind like the beautiful tool it was meant to be.

Our mind is supposed to serve us and it does. How effectively it will serve us is determined by factors such as our past, our unique awareness and the techniques we use, consciously and/ or unconsciously.

We can make substantial positive changes in our lives by starting the process of becoming more aware of what we are thinking on a conscious level, what we are feeling and where in our bodies we feel our thoughts and emotions.

Become aware of how you are treating yourself. Are you gentle and loving with yourself? Or are you tough on yourself and berate yourself for any little mistake or perceived lack?

We can take charge and create what we want. Like attracts like, so what you are conscious of will also take root in your unconscious. When we focus on what we want in a positive way, we will manifest what we want in our lives.

Making ourselves wrong for the way we have thought and felt up until this point does not help us and in fact will lock us into the old patterns even more. There is always a reason our mind wants to react to our environment the way it does. Often it is an automatic response based on past experiences and an association to the past that the mind perceives.

Looking at things from a different perspective such as: Is this working for me now? rather than Am I wrong? will support us and helps us to create what we want instead of what we dont want. It also takes us off of automatic pilot. This is no different than learning any new skill.

STEP ONE is to practice being aware of what we are thinking, feeling and where in our body and / or in what part of our brain we experience our thoughts and emotions. Practicing this awareness several times a day, and keeping a record of what is experienced is a powerful exercise. When looking back over a week and observing what we were thinking and feeling, it is amazing how often we repeat our thoughts and feelings, and how much dwelling on past and possible future events consumes so much of our time and energy. This exercise is done to help us be aware, not to look at ourselves as wrong. We can then see what it means to be fully present and actually living in the now.

STEP TWO is to slow down our processes, separate our thinking and feeling from our responses and reactions. We need and deserve this step. Often others will want an instant response. We dont have to respond until we have allowed our thoughts and feelings to be processed. Then when we are ready to think about what we have felt and thought we can ask ourselves "what do I want?" We dont have to do anything about what we think, feel or want. We have choices, and when we allow ourselves the time to slow down the process, most often we will make better decisions. There are many techniques to help us gently grow, and create a life of peace, harmony, joy and abundance. May this year be filled with many such experiences for everyone.
