Try Harder
I went to school today. I painted a picture of the ocean and I was proud of it.
I asked the teacher what she thought. She said, "Try harder."
I didn't want to paint anymore.
We took a test today. I got two wrong out of ten. I was proud of myself.
My teacher said, "Try harder."
I didn't want to study anymore.
At music time, I sang the best that I could. I was proud.
My teacher said, "Try harder."
I didn't want to sing anymore.
During gym, I made a basket then missed my next shot. I was so happy I made a basket.
My teacher said, "Try harder."
I didn't want to play anymore.
By the end of the day, I was sad and didn't want to do anything.
I asked the teacher why she was always telling me to try harder.
She said, "I'm just trying to get you to do your best."
I said, "Try harder."
