A Bigger Plan
So many thoughts
I just can't think straight
Shadows of pain
Leave me, it's late.
I feel their breath
On my neck so cold
It's the worst kind of pain
Or so I've been told.
Although I don't show it
It burns deep inside
If you were to say anything
I'd send it to hide.
A heart has been broken
I feel I'm to blame
I said from the start
That this wasn't a game.
Why am I thinking
I'd made my heart sure
I said never again
Would I search for a cure.
Look all around you
It's changing, look, see
The things that you're sure of
Will not always be.
You'll think that you've found it
The one, your true love
But maybe not ever
Will it rate up above.
There's a plan for you somewhere
And while you don't mean to cause pain
Sometimes you can't help it
It just comes...the rain.
Out there in the skies
Your one true love waits
You may be at home
While she goes out and dates.
Understand you can't help it
You don't mean it, you don't.
God tells you there's better
He won't have it, He won't.
You must do your best
And go day by day
And while you may hurt others
She will come your way.
Feel the breath on your neck
Right now it blows pain
In her stomach the feeling
Like she's been hit by a train.
"Please listen," you say
I can't help it, I tried
I was so honest
It was my heart that lied.
I thought I was happy
You always made me smile
But God told me now
Before we'd walked a long mile.
What was shared here was special
I won't ever let go
These feelings I had
I just want you to know.
There's a bigger plan out there
For you and me, too
Turn and walk away now
Somebody's waiting for you...
