For problems with SSI or Medicaid/Medicare e-mail your governor and senators. Be very specific in your letter and express your hardships because of these problems. In most cases you will get a reply within a week. Curb cuts and ramps - contact local city/county authorities, highways maintenance, school boards, etc. By law they must resolve the issue immediately. USE THE MEDIA If you have a disability issue that is not resolved contact your local paper, radio station or television station's human interest department. LOBBY Lobbying is so important. If you cannot physically be at disabilities meetings write letters to the president, senators, representatives. Make phone calls. Let your voice be heard. You may think your one voice does not count or will not be heard but each "one" voice adds up to a resounding choir of voices and you will see the results of your efforts.
