Three Rune Spread

This is another very simple method of consulting the runes and is best used for questions that require a relatively straightforward answer. It should certainly not be used for multiple questions. So a question such as “should I have the operation?” would be fine for the three rune method, but if you asked “should I have the operation and should I have it next week or next month?” the runes would not give an intelligible answer.

The simplest way to interpret the runes is as follows. Spread out your cloth and place all the runes face down on it. Swirl them around until they are thoroughly mixed, choose three in a row and turn them face up. Then count the number of positive runes and negative ones. By virtue of the odd number there will be a preponderance of one or the other. This will give you a direct yes or no answer. Two or three positive runes and the answer must be yes, only one positive rune and the answer must be no.

However, the three rune method can also be used to give a reading about the past, present and future. Pick out your three runes one at a time and place them in a row, with the one you chose first on the left and the one you chose last on the right. You are now ready to begin the reading.
  1. Past The first rune indicates how the present situation came about

  2. Present The second rune show what is happening in the present

  3. Future The third rune show the likely outcome.
An upright, positive rune indicates that the outcome will almost certainly be successful. A negative, reversed rune means that the prognosis is not good.
