"It's okay for you to NOT complete me"
in the context of "i care about you bottomlessly,"
and seriously mean it....
This is divine love,
superior to our human loves,
but a real tangible love,
that even our ancestors understood
as we post-modern have forgotten
as the source of dignity and strength...
True love is non-reciprocal
on the part of the giver--
yet i struggled, not with desire for anyone,
but with the ability to forgive,
though i've done far worse to another
who loves me still.
& since i've learned to let go, the hard way,
i've learned to hold on, the right way...
this is not the "pslam" of a depressed man,
(nor a "sexually-repressed man," as many like to snicker)
but the psalm of a young man that has been re-energized.
