A Loganville soldier who was part of Georgia's 48th combat brigade is the latest casulaty in the war in Iraq. 23 year old Sergeant Michael Stokely was killed early Tuesday morning (August 16). His family and friends say he wanted to serve his country, and describe him as a brave soldier with a heart of gold who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Niki.

The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Snellville at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 27.
Interment to follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville.
