8.3 'Doing Without' - Husbands and Partners

Question 31 followed on from Question 30 by asking those women who were married or living with a partner (63 in total) what these men had gone without in the previous year - the list offered was the same as for the women themselves.  A lesser percentage of the men had been deprived (68.25%) than of women, while 31.74% never go without or for whom money is never tight (Note: To aid comparison, 73.2% of married women and 85.7% of those living with their partner go without).  The top three items that men do without because of shortage of money are the same as for women, a holiday, going out/socialising and clothes, in that order.
