51-60 age group:
"If
I didn't have qualifications, I would be on a Fas scheme
like most women"
Woman, aged 21-30:
"[There
are] jobs for 'who you know' and 'jobs for the boys"
Woman,
aged 51-60:
"Age
discrimination [is a barrier]"
Married, aged 61-70:
"The
work available is unsuitable - [have to] just take what
you get"
Married, with three children, 31-40 age group:
"[I
am] thinking of the children- employment opportunities
and more investment [is needed]- not necessarily in
multi-nationals, but more support for home grown business"
Woman, aged 21-30:
"Some
places are not paying minimum wage - they get away with
it here and take advantage of those who are maybe unemployed
and working [i.e.] doing the double"
Married, 61-70 age group:
"Bring employment to Inishowen- for example Ballyliffin
and Urris had factories, now there are none"
Married woman, aged 51-60:
"It's
all 'who you know' when looking for jobs unless [you're]
in the GAA or Soccer - the clergy and the GAA run the
country"
