Great - Great-Grandfather
He was a photographer and had a studio named "Grande Photographie Centrale" in Bucharest. He had 15 children - my Great Grandmother Ghizela was his daughter
My other Great Grandmother, (Grandfather's mother) from Transylvania. She had eleven children. I never knew her, she died before I was born, and I don't know anything about my Great Grandfather (her husband), or their family past
Great Grandfather - he married my Great Grandmother Ghizela. He worked in the oil and gas industry
My Grandparents (my mother's parents) at their wedding in 1927. They had one child: my mother. I grew up in the same house with them until I was 14, and kept in touch until the 1980's, when they passed away. My Grandmother taught me how to read and write, as well as many other things, like family values
My Great Grandmother Ghizela
whom I knew - she is my Grandmother's mother
She had seven children and for a short while she lived in London, England
Grandfather in 1940.
He was a watch maker and had his own jewelry and watch shop in central Bucharest (Piata Sf. Vineri) where he worked as an independent, even under the communist regime until the 1977 earthquake, when his shop had to be demolished. He learned his trade in Germany, and spoke Hungarian, German, and learned Romanian after the first World War when he moved from Transylvania to Bucharest.
My Grandmother stayed home, but she learned in school French, English and German, and could read all these languages until her old age.
