Episode 6: A Narrow Escape

�Let�s a-go!� shouted Mario and Luigi in unison, jumping out of the ship. They began to bombard Cackletta with fireballs.

�Nice try, boys, but that won�t do a thing,� replied Cackletta, almost laughing. She appeared to be using a spell to absorb the energy of the fireballs to increase her own strength.

�No-a,� cried Mario.

�We�ve a-got to try-a something else-a,� shouted Luigi.

The two brothers huddled together for a second and leaped into action after planning an attack. Mario pounded Luigi into the ground with his hammer and Cackletta stared at him in surprise.

�What, you�re burying him?� asked Cackletta mockingly. �I wanted that pleasure to be mine.�

�Think again-a,� replied Mario. He ran up to Cackletta, whipped out his hammer and jumped. At that moment, Luigi popped out of the ground and jumped at Mario, sending him flying in the air and falling at Cackletta. He swung his hammer at her rapidly and she was hit at least four to five times before Mario landed.

�Crap that hurt,� said Cackletta, staggering backwards a bit. �Attack!� she cried.

At that moment, Fawful, Beldam, Marilyn, Vivian and Doopliss were all on their feet again, facing the Mario Bros.

�We-a need back-up-a!� cried Luigi. Mario whistled and Link, Yoshi, Bowser and Ganondorf jumped out of the ship ready to fight. Mario and Luigi stood across from Cackletta and Fawful. Link unsheathed his sword and dove at Beldam, making a small cut in her shadowy flesh. Yoshi faced off against Marilyn. Bowser took on Vivian and Ganondorf was now staring down Doopliss. They were all ready to fight and cause some major damage.

�Kill them!� screeched Cackletta, hurling a lightning bolt at Mario. Mario quickly jumped it and then dove at Cackletta. Luigi jumped at Fawful and both brothers used a Multibounce attack on their foes, leaving them unable to retaliate. �A little help,� said Cackletta. Marilyn tossed some lightning bolts at Mario and Luigi, knocking them off their targets. Cackletta and Fawful continued their assault, which was easily dodged by the Mario Bros. Marilyn was distracted from helping Cackletta out, so Yoshi took advantage of this opportunity and lobbed a volley of eggs at her, all hitting her dead on in the head.

�Guh, huh,� said Marilyn (it appears that that�s all she can say), launching a few lightning bolts at Yoshi. He jumped over them and retaliated with a few eggs, ground-pounding his foe at the same time. Bowser breathed fire at Vivian, which she countered with fire techniques of her own. Doopliss transformed into Link and plunged his sword into Ganon�s gut.

�So that�s how it is,� said Ganon, removing the sword and pocketing it. He pulled out two swords of his own and began to slash at Doopliss, who could only defend himself with his Mirror Shield. Ganon slashed at the cowering Doopliss, shattering the shield and giving the body-thief a scare.

�Hey, it�s fake!� remarked Doopliss when the shield shattered so easily.

�So are you! shouted Ganondorf, plunging his sword into Doopliss�s chest.

�Fine,� said Doopliss, transforming back into his ghost-like form. �It�ll be him who suffers,� he said, pointing to Link, who now had Ganon�s sword through his chest.

�Why you little..� fumed Ganon, raising a sword at Doopliss.

�I wouldn�t do that if I were you,� taunted Doopliss as he transformed into Bowser. �Your friend will take the blow.�

�You fools are finished!� screamed Cackletta.

�Yes, fink-rats, it is over,� added Fawful.

�No!� shouted Ganon.

�We�ll never-give up-a,� replied Mario.

All that could be heard now was a crazy assortment of voices, all crying random thing.

�Hit me and let your friend suffer.�

�You boys put up a good fight. But you�re done.�

�Ouch, that hurt, you fink-rats!�

�You cheap little son-of-a��

�Guh-huh.�

�Never-a!�

Ganon was wrestling Doopliss to the ground, strangling him and forcing off his Bowser disguise. Vivian and Bowser had also resorted to wrestling because their fire moves had no effect on each other. Yoshi and Marilyn were exchanging blows, eggs and lightning bolts flying everywhere. Link was lying helplessly on the ground, the sword now so deep he might die. No, he thought. Can�t die now. They need me. I wanna live!!! And then there was Beldam cackling raucously in the background, as if she had knocked him out. Mario and Luigi were locked in a heated battle with Cackletta, having already beaten Fawful with a Chopper Bros. attack earlier in the battle. Chaos was afoot in the forest, but Samus was ready to end it. She had almost finished removing the spell Cackletta had put on her ship and was ready to take off. We�ll get out of here, she thought.

All of a sudden, everyone who was fighting stopped. Everything fell silent except for the roar of a small, red gunship, which plowed through all the villains (well, the �real � bad- guys, anyway), knocking them out.

�Hurry up, guys. Get in!� called Samus to the heroes (including Bowser and Ganon, because they are the heroes too). �Before they get up,� she said, pointing to Cackletta and her minions.

Cackletta got up and screamed: �NOOOOO!!!!!!! DON�T LET THEM GET AWAY!!!!!!!� But it was too late for her, because the heroes had already taken off into the sky and were leaving Earth�s atmosphere, entering space.

�Wow,� said most of the group in awe.

�This is space-a?� asked Luigi in amazement.

�Yep, this is the place,� replied Samus.

�Space must be full of dust and crap,� said Bowser.

�Why?� queried everyone else.

�Because it�s a vacuum,� he said. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy, or just really dumb, or for both of the above. �Ba-dum-duh!� he said, making a weird drum noise usually made after telling a bad joke.

�Ok,� said Link.

�Tough ship,� remarked Bowser.

Something could be heard hitting the outside of the ship. Several ships were approaching, all zooming towards them.

�We�ve got company,� said Samus.

�Who-a?� asked Mario.

�Space pirates,� she replied.

Samus weaved around the enemy fire and took out the ships one-by-one just by ramming them, making them break into pieces. She finished off a few stray pirates with some laser shots and then hopped back to the others.

�All taken care of,� she said.

�That was fast,� remarked Link.

�They don�t wanna mess with me now, that's for sure,� said Samus. �I�m angry and that makes me more reckless and dangerous than ever! I�m curious about something, though: What were they doing out here?�

�Maybe they work for Grodus,� suggested Yoshi.

�Maybe,� replied Samus. �But let�s hope not.�

They were heading toward their destination, the Moon. The entire place was deserted, save a large building in the center of the Moon that appeared to be an evil lair of some sort.

�That must be the place,� said Yoshi.

�Yep-a,� replied Mario. �Unfortunately-a, I�ve been here-a before.�

Last time...........
Mario and company ran into Cackletta in the middle of the forest during their visit to Yoshi's. She and her minions lost their battle with the heroes, but turn the tide in their favor with the help of Cackletta's magic. With the odds against them, all looks bleak, but Bowser jumps into the fray and almost destroys the bad guys. However, after a hasty escape attempt, Cackletta draws the heroes in for one final fight?
