| Episode 16: A Dominion of Evil |
| �Phew,� remarked Yoshi. �I can�t believe we narrowly escaped death at the hands of evil villains yet again.�
�Yeah, neither can I,� added Link. �You guys sure are lucky I keep saving your butts, that�s for sure!� exclaimed Samus. �No doubt-a,� said Mario. �We-a owe you our lives-a three times over-a.� �No problem,� said Samus. �I need your help as much as you do mine, so we�re cool.� �Where should we head for?� asked Link. �It�s only a matter of time before they find us and devastate the world with that Hand of Glory!� � �Thwarted again!� fumed Bowser. �You have no idea how much this pisses me off!� �Oh, I bet I do,� remarked Kammy Koopa sarcastically. �It is only a minor setback, Bowser,� added Ganondorf. �We shall seize and destroy these fools any day now.� �But I want to annihilate them NOW!!!� shouted Bowser, furiously setting the room on fire. �Cool it,� scolded Kammy Koopa, magically putting out the fire. �Do not make any hasty moves. Our enemies, especially the Mario Bros., are very crafty and they have a knack for turning your best schemes against you.� �And when has this ever happened?� asked Bowser. �Do I have to remind you?� asked Kammy. �Steal Star Rod from Star Haven: you looked invincible, but yet, that corpulent plumber wasted you. Kidnapping the princess always fails; even framing Mario for a crime he didn�t commit and goopifying an entire town backfired because your stupid administration couldn�t pull off a simple plan! Must I go on?� �You�ve made your point!� growled Bowser. �I know I�ve messed up before but I won�t do it again. My first order of business will be to make some permanent changes to this planet and asserting myself as its supreme ruler. Hand of Glory, activate!� Bowser�s hand began glowing, and the flash spread throughout the world. Vast landscapes were transformed, beautiful fields and forests were turned to dead, rocky, plains with a constant lava flow. Mountains erupted into volcanoes, spewing lava this way and that. Rivers and lakes dried up and were soon filled with molten lava. A great toxin spread throughout the oceans, transforming the waters into a murky purple sludge. Putrid Piranha Plants arose from the murk and extended their spiky vines throughout the planet. A slow, gradual change in the landscape like this should have taken thousands of years to evolve and come into being, but instead, due to Bowser�s new ability to speed up time, the changes occurred instantaneously and wreaked havoc on the planets� ecosystems. Animals died and were replaced by bony skeleton creatures. Ocean dwellers were killed by the toxins and replaced by magma-dwelling fiends. In less than five seconds, the world everyone had come to know and love (?) was transformed into Bowser�s twisted nightmarish version of the planet. �And now, to unite my empire into one landmass,� added Bowser. He raised his hand and the reverse of continental drift occurred, pulling all the continents back into one unified large landmass, the original �Pangaea� as scientists once called it. �Excellent,� said Kammy Koopa. She, Bowser, and Ganon then boarded the Koopa Cruiser. �Our enemies must be near now. Let�s get them!� �Hey wait for us,� panted Lord Crump and Grodus, narrowly making it onto the cruiser before it took off. � �Damn,� remarked Yoshi, glancing around at the changing landscape. �Bowser�s been making some renovations.� �That�s not good,� replied Zelda. �We�ve gotta stop him. And fast! I don�t know how much longer we can survive in a world like this.� �Yeah-a, before Bowser discovers-a one of the most powerful-a features of the hand-a; historic manipulation,� said Mario. �He can totally rewrite history and change the world as we know it,� stated Yoshi. �It�ll be a big deal if he succeeds.� �Um, Yoshi, we�ve got other things to worry about,� panicked Link. As usual, an army of minions descended on the group and poised themselves for attack. �Here we go again,� he said unenthusiastically. � �And now, for the grand finale, the most important renovation of them all,� shouted Bowser. �The spectacular spectacle, greatest masterpiece in the�� �Just get on with it, we haven�t got all day!� shrieked Kammy Koopa. �Hurry it up,� murmured Grodus. �Silence fools,� boomed Bowser, raising his fist. And from that fist, a force erupted that would greatly alter the world. More historically than physically of course, being that the physical damage had been done. An eerie purple stream of energy radiated from the Hand of Glory, and with it time changing. Bowser, himself, felt a hollow feeling in his gut. Perhaps this change had caused Bowser to cease to exist�� � �Master Sword go!!!� shouted Link, the sword glowing as he leap into battle. �Fiends be gone!� as he slashed through Bowser�s bony army of minions. �Fire Bros.!� shouted Mario. �Thunder Bros.!!!� insisted Luigi. �Fire!� �Thunder!� �Fire!� �Thunder!� �Would you two just agree on an attack before�,� began Samus, but she was interrupted by a blast from a Dry Bones, knocking her pretty far back. �Thunder Bros!� said the Mario Bros. in unison. Luigi charged a thunderbolt, Mario leapt into the air, and Luigi unleashed the electric pulse into Mario, transforming him into a human projectile that electrified the remainder of Bowser�s minions. �Reinforcements!� called a Koopa, as several hundred more hovered onto the battlefield. �Annihilator Beam!� shouted a recovered Samus. �Nothing can survive this!� All the Dry Bones were blown to pieces. Some Paratroopas came, but Samus destroyed them easily. �Bone Dragons, Blarg, attack!!!� shouted Bowser�s general. Several skeletal structures erupted from the ground and engulfed the battlefield. An overweight creature emerged from a nearby lava pool and began tossing fireballs at the group. �What are they?� queried Zelda. �Bone Dragons and Blaarg,� explained Yoshi. �Powerful monsters, we better run for it.� �No problem,� remarked Samus. �I�m an intergalactic bounty hunter, it�s my job to take these sorts of fiends. �Samus, be careful,� warned Link as a Blarg shot a fireball from behind her back. She jumped it with the Space Jump quite easily, but was caught off guard by a blast from a Bone Dragon that knocked her right into the Blaarg�s assault, knocking her to the ground. �Nooooo!!!!� she shouted, as the attack connected. Link plunged his sword into the Blaarg�s gut, slaying it. �Good old-fashioned weapons are all you need,� remarked Link triumphantly. �None of this blaster crap!� �We�re not done yet, Link,� cautioned Yoshi. �Why?� queried Zelda. �Bone dragons!� replied Yoshi. �Anyone feel a little strange?� asked Zelda. �A little nauseous or like you�re fading away.� �Yeah-a,� remarked Mario. �My vision�s-a foggy!� added Luigi. �Oh no,� reasoned Zelda. �Bowser�s changing history. We might no longer exist in this state if he succeeds!� � �Any minute now,� said Bowser. �I�m feeling the change already.� �And what do you plan, sir?� queried Kammy Koopa. �I�m thinkin� a Lenin or Stalin kind of theme. Mussolini? A little Hitler here or there. Maybe like the book 1984,� said Bowser. �Any government in which the heroes can be crushed, and Mario assimilated into my perfect society; a Dominion of Evil! Gwahahahah!!!� �1984, who knew Bowser could read,� joked Lord Crump. �Don�t get me started, you wretch,� Bowser said, blasting Crump with flames. �Sorry sir,� he whined. �It all starts now,� murmured Ganondorf, as the world glowed with an eerie white light. |
