Biotechnology is the manipulation of biological organisms to make products that benefit human beings. Biotechnology contributes to such diverse areas as food production, waste disposal, mining, and medicine.

Though people had been using biotechnology since ancient times, some of its most dramatic advances were discovered and in used recent years. Modern achievements include the transferal of a specific gene from one organism to another (by means of a set of genetic engineering techniques known as transgenic); the maintenance and growth of genetically uniform plant- and animal-cell cultures, called clones; and the fusing of different types of cells to produce beneficial medical products such as monoclonal antibodies, which are designed to attack a specific type of foreign substance. Biotechnology is the leader of 21st century and is going to expand over the world through it important discoveries.

Bio-Talk is the first Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering based online and multimedia (CDROM) digital magazine (not scientific journal) in Bangladesh, which will be published Monthly (12 issues in a year) under the supervision of Reputed Specialists and Professor of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering and published by Center for Applied Biotechnology, CAB (An organization of some ex-student of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Discipline of Khulna University) . This magazine will explore the possibility of publications news/information of corporate activities and scientific discoveries regarding biotechnological process, application of biotechnology in the developmental aspect of Bangladesh. This magazine will make a sufficient contribution to biological science. News, information about biotechnology will be focused sufficiently by this magazine. We take the challenge for exploration.
