Jammin' in A Band
Planning to jam as a group? Or should I say a band? Well, i've been doing it for YEARS ever since I started learning guitar in 1993. So whats the catch? Some people say that it takes coordination, some say it takes patience and some say it takes preserverance. They are not wrong at all, but I would say that the most important of all it takes COMMITMENT.
What help does it do when there is coordination or patience or preseverance when there isn't any commitment to play? Everyone in the group is important. Without a bassist, a band will lose the backbone, without a drummer, the band loses its atmosphere and without a guitarist, the band isn't a going to catch any fire.
So what does it take to play in a band? Consider seriously and get the guys who are commited. Otherwise don't waste time just going to studios and playing off the shelf for nothin'.
Ok, enough of my talking, but seriously, if you would wanna play, get commited players. Any further questions will be entertained via e-mail.
Have fun viewing the photos!!!
Unpacking/Arrival Edwin
Ok, we've just arrived at the studio. I'm not going to tell you which studio it is, but the sound system sucks abit. Didn't wanna waste time, so we just unpack quickly and set up the necessary equipment. Time to introduce the band, on the lead guitars, this is Edwin. He is the one who gave me the Gibson t-shirt. He isn't supposed to sing, but anyway we lacked members, so who is willing to sing can join us, but we are serious in commited people only. He uses Ibanez Guitars, RP-2000 effects and original crybaby WAH
Ben Koh
Ben Lim
Without this person, the band is like a person without a backbone. We've been hunting high and low for a bassist and finally we found a commited person. Initially we were playing with other bassist off the shelf kindda thing, but due to several commitments he couldn't make it. Anyway, this person, his name is Ben Koh, he has been playing bass for quite a long time too. He uses Hamer Bass.
With due respect, this is Ben Lim. He is currently serving National Service as a sergeant in BMTC and is due for ORD in Feb next year 2004. He is one person who stays totally with us since day one in the year 2000 until now when the band started. He doesn't have a drum set on his own, but he plays often in church and helps out whenever he can. He is a great guy.
The Duet
The missing person
Ok, thats about band. There's only 4 of us here. Of course I don't need to take myself in the photos right? Edwin is singing forcefully as we didn't have a singer. The band started in 2000 as mentioned, with me on bass, Edwin on guitars and Ben Lim on drums. The first ever studio we went to was Swee Lee studio at Sims Drive
Can you see that the background is without a keyboard player? Actually we have one in mind, however the person has some commitments elsewhere to be frank. So we decided that we shall leave the slot open for people to fill in as and when they can for the time being. Ain't the 2 of them cool???
Edwin and I

Me and my buddy Edwin.
What else more to say ... =)
Well, thats about it so far. Anymore I'll just upload them and you can have a look at the life of whats jammin' all about. There is of course more to what you see here. This is the minimum a band can get so far, but just stay tune for more!! Click here to go BACK
