Class 2A recommendations |
|
|
|
This is for the Class 2A riders out there who just completed their upgrade or who had upgrade and still intending what kindda bike to get for a while. Ok, below what you see here are some of which I can recommend. There are several other Class 2A bikes, <400cc available out there. But from here, I find them economical, efficient and personally tested some of them and actually own before. So, if you have any queries, feel free to e-mail me and I'll try to answer as accurately as possible. |

This is a Honda Shadow, 398cc, 400cc equivalent. Runs with 4 carbs like any other Honda bikes. Consumes petrol, full tank can last you up to 1 week at about 220km if I'm not wrong. It comes with White, Blue, Black and red colour. Its a 1995 model, nowadays I don't know whether they still have this 1st hand. If have, I suggest getting it at S$15000. 2nd hand can be purchased at S$8800 |

This is the Honda Steed. Also around 398cc or 400cc equivalent. The pickup is lesser than the Shadow, it consumes lesser petrol than the Shadow, lighter and smaller. Maintenance wise is the same as the Shadow. Now the Steed does comes with a string suspension. In the market it is available at $13000, 2nd hand at $8000-$9000, depending on the condition. Used to be selling like hotcakes. Comfortable, just like the Shadow and it runs another 50 more km than the shadow for full tank ? |

This is the Honda Super Four. It runs with a CBR engine just that it comes with this Vtec technology. Its pickup lose both the steed and Shadow, however after a short while, it picks up and outruns them. Petrol consumption is about the same as the Shadow because one of my friend owns it. Maintenance wise is just like any other bike mentioned above. 1st hand can be purchased at S$13000 while 2nd hand between 7000S$-S$9000 |

As for Racers, there are many. This is a typical one called the Honda CBR FireBlade. It is 400cc and it rocks. Of course, don't compare it with Hayabusa or R1 or even 750cc Strad, but it runs, smooth and its petrol consumption is just like the Super4. Maintenance wise is just the same. 1st hand ... don't think anymore available on the markets but there are 2nd hand for 4000S$ and its like 8 yrs old already. Perhaps you can check it out and tell me whether are there any new CBR 400cc on the markets. |

This is a Suzuki GSXR 400cc. Suspension is inverted, not much difference compared to the CBR. It runs almost at par and its maintenance is just the same. Petrol consumption is the same as the shadow and Super4. This also can be purchased 2nd hand at about $4000 too. Depending on the shop or seller, GSXR is more treasured than CBR. I don't know why |

This is the ForZa, Honda bike at 250cc. Actually this is meant for gals or those who are road cautious. Its automatic, that means you don't have to switch gears. It consumes petrol like a 2B bike, I don't know whether to you need to add " 2T " fuel, most likely there is a need. That is the thing extra about it other than petrol and engine oil. Maintenance wise not much difference, just take care of the electronics part of it. Available at about 9000S$ ? I'm not too sure is it available in Singapore tho. But there are many lookalikes to this one. Check it out |

This is a Honda 250cc NSR. It is something like a sports bike and it really can run fast. The problem is you gotta add "2T" oil apart from petrol and engine oil. Maintenance is as usual, petrol consumption is relevant to Super4 and Shadow. Selling at about 13000S, 2nd hand outside for 1 or 2 yrs old can be about 9000S$ |
