Army Unit |
|
|
|
Ok ... army units are better known as army camps. Some of these camps exist WAY before you and I were borned. What you're going to see here is a typical camp located somewhere in this earth. It could be in Taiwan, Brunei, Thailand or even Singapore. Believe me that almost all camps would look something like this even though they are refurbished.
Anyway, some camps are constructed in the late 1980s and early 1990s. So their facilities would definately be better than any Tom, Dick or Harry's camp constructed long time ago.
Somethings about army unit is that people who carry GCE O levels/ ITE certs would mostly likely be enlisted into such camps. Not to be prejudice on those with lower education but it is reality. No hard feelings K ?
The main aim of the unit, which is also known as the Battalion is to perform "operationally ready" just before the soldiers finish their NS liability. So it is usually carried out overseas, I.E Taiwan or Australia depending on circumstances.
For commanders, rank of a 3rd Sergeant and above to 2nd Lieutenant, only the best will be posted to units, that is what people say I wouldn't know because they HAVE to handle tough situation of the soldiers, training, performance, etc..etc.
Below are some pictures of a unit's compound and abit of training allocated. |

This is a typical unit compound. The surrounding are the accomodation for the soldiers. They are differentiated by A, B, C orders. The centre is the parade square, it is where drills, parades and functions are carried out |

This is a 2-men bunk. Sorry man, its only for commanders holding the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and above. For soldiers and 3rd Sergeants, the bunks would be a 10-men bunk. Should I have a picture of that I'll put it up so that some of you would not get cultural shock |

Some activities in unit, same goes anywhere even in schools or whatever. Morning runs are frequent to keep the people fit, there will always be commanders following yelling to encourage the soldiers/recruits/men not to give up |

Events like route marches will also be conducted like in this picture. This is REAL, if you think they are marches just to let me take a photo then you're wrong. Haha ... believe me, these route marches can go from 4km up to 24km in reality. The load you're carrying you find out yourself. Be prepared |

This is called the SOC ground. The standard Obstacle Course. Whether You're in BMT or UNIT or whatever you gotta do this even if you're going to be an officer or specialist or soldier. It is a 1.5km event and it takes more than just what you think might get you through. The passing timing is reasonable, trust me |
