The Sushi Factor

Carol suggested making sushi in the dinner before the
Thanksgiving Theme. I attended a fun sushi workshop before, so I have some
knowledge on the subject. If you are interested in making and eating sushi, then
this is one way to do it:
Directions: Steam the rice with a little bit of rice vinegar until it is sticky. Cut the avocados,
turnips, meat, etc. into narrow long strips. Get a seaweed wrap and spread a thin
layer of rice covering half of the wrap. Add the cut avocados, turnips, etc on
top of the rice. Roll the sushi starting from the end with the rice to the other
end of the wrap. To use the rolling sheet, you would lift one end of the sheet
up slightly and and push the sushi so it rolls forward. Saran wrap will work,
too. Repeat the process until the sushi is completely wrapped. Apply water, rice, or sauce to the and of the wrap to seal the
roll together. Once the role the roll is complete, use a knife to cut the roll
into disks. Enjoy eating your own sushi plain or with any sauce. Best served
with tea (and I do not mean Brisk or those chemically processed powders)

We need an emissary
to go shopping at an oriental supermarket. If you know the location of a good
one and can spare some time to go shopping, then please volunteer! It also helps
if you know how to make sushi and can choose the preferred ingredients for us.
The shopping should ideally be done before 5pm on February 20. If you have any
of the above ingredients at home, please tell me. Please help us or
this section will not be successful.
If you want me to add more information to this page, please email Kenneth at [email protected].
