Capitol Street Bridge (1) - Sunset August 9th, 1999    |

This is one of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen.
Several people commented on these prints as I inspected them in the
lab the day after the sunset. The lab technician even recognized
the sunset that she had only been able to look at through the open
door of her lab.
I am very glad to have the use of PhotoShop and its color correction
tools. This image wasn't printed as true to life as I would have liked by the lab (a nearly impossible feat
for automated processors with images like this). However, scanning the
negative and using PhotoShop's "Curves" command to set the white
and black points corrected the color balance and really set the contrast
the way that I wanted.
This image (and that of the Capitol building) were taken from a wide grass strip that separates the opposing lanes of traffic as you go down Capitol Street in downtown Sacramento.
