Information: Penny is by far the alpha mare. Out of the 6 Gypsy Vanner mares we own, she leads them all. She is one of the oldest mares we have, but thats not the reason she is in charge. Its because she is more dominant than the others. She makes good decisions. While I was on vacation in Hawaii last year I gave my neighbor instructions on how to take care of all of our horses and when a hurricance came along they completely forgot about my horses and luckily Penny knew what she was doing. She led all of the horses into run-ins. Only one of our horses were hurt, but they recovered. As I was saying though, Penny is very responsible. She is an excellent dressage and driving horse.
